An existing Sears Store in a strip mall building is given a facelift and new life as a Specialty + Emergency Veterinary Hospital. The veterinary practice had outgrown their facility less than 1 mile down the road. The front facade was removed and restructured to create a more inviting lobby / waiting area. A challenge in a build-out of this type of box building is getting natural light to the interior areas. To remedy this, special light tube skylights were installed throughout to bring free natural daylighting into areas with no windows. This relatively inexpensive and simple addition makes a difference to staff productivity and morale working in windowless areas.
